Some voices never really leave us. They stay somewhere in our hearts, quietly accompanying our memories, our longing, and the emotions we sometimes cannot put into words.
On October 22, 2026, Fadel Chaker returned to the concert stage with “Awdat Al Ghayeb” (The Return of the Absent), also known as The Return Night, at Abu Bakr Salem Theater, Boulevard City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Organized by Benchmark, this special evening marked the opening of the Riyadh Season 2026–2027 concert series, bringing back a voice that had been deeply missed for nearly 14 years.
As the event description beautifully expressed, it was a night that brought back beloved songs, cherished memories, and the unmistakable emotions that have always defined Fadel Chaker’s music.
And for someone like me, who has admired his music for years, his return meant something truly special.
Experiencing the Magic, Even From Miles Away
Unfortunately, I wasn’t in Riyadh to witness this beautiful moment in person. Instead, I watched the concert live through Benchmark’s YouTube channel.
Even though I was watching from thousands of miles away, I found myself completely immersed in the performance.
Seeing Fadel Chaker on stage again, accompanied by a magnificent live orchestra, was such a beautiful experience. The sound of the strings, the richness of the musical arrangements, and the emotion in his voice came together in a way that made every song feel even more meaningful.
The orchestra didn’t simply accompany his singing. It seemed to breathe life into every melody, allowing each note to carry its own story.
What made the evening even more touching was his performance alongside his son, Mohammad Chaker. There was something particularly beautiful about seeing two generations sharing the same stage through music.
A Voice That Speaks to the Heart
What I have always loved about Fadel Chaker is the emotional depth of his songs.
His music is filled with tenderness, longing, love, heartbreak, and nostalgia. There is something incredibly sincere about the way he sings, as though every word comes from a place of genuine feeling.
Sometimes, I don’t even need to understand every Arabic lyric to feel what the song is trying to say.
His voice somehow makes the emotions understandable on their own.
Some songs remind us of people we miss. Others bring back memories we thought we had forgotten. And some simply make us sit quietly, listening, because the beauty of the melody says more than words ever could.
Listening to him with a live orchestra made those emotions even stronger.
There were moments when I just wanted to close my eyes and listen, letting the music take me wherever it wanted.
That is the beauty of Fadel Chaker’s music. He doesn’t just sing about emotions. He makes you feel them.
And perhaps that is why his songs have remained so meaningful to me over the years.
One Day, I Hope to Be There
While watching the concert, I couldn’t stop imagining how wonderful it must have been for those who were actually there.
To hear his voice filling the theater, to experience the orchestra live, and to share those moments with thousands of people who have also waited so long for his return.
I must admit, I felt a little jealous of everyone in the audience, in the sweetest possible way.
Because one of my biggest dreams is to see Fadel Chaker perform live, at least once in my lifetime.
Of course, I would love it if Fadel Chaker could perform in Indonesia someday. That would be a dream come true. But if not, Saudi Arabia would be just as wonderful. Honestly, wherever he performs, I just hope I’ll have the chance to hear his beautiful voice live, at least once in my lifetime
I want to hear those beautiful melodies without a screen between us. I want to feel the music, listen to the orchestra, and experience the emotions of his songs in that very moment.
And perhaps, when that day finally comes, I’ll find myself singing along, smiling, and maybe even shedding a few tears.
A New Hope: More Concerts to Come
Knowing that Fadel Chaker’s return to the stage may be followed by more concerts makes me even more excited.
Following his Riyadh Season comeback, additional performances have been announced or reported across the Middle East, including:
- October 30, 2026 – Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia: A concert listed at Khobar Arena.
- November 12, 2026 – Doha, Qatar: A reported performance at Katara Amphitheatre.
- November 14, 2026 – Jordan: A reported concert in the Dead Sea area.
Other possible destinations, including Egypt, Morocco, and Syria, have also been mentioned, although these remain unconfirmed. Concert schedules and ticket availability should always be checked through official organizers before making travel plans.
For someone who has dreamed of hearing his voice live, even the possibility of these upcoming performances brings a little hope.
I find myself imagining what it would be like to book a flight, travel to another country, and finally attend one of his concerts.
Perhaps Saudi Arabia. Perhaps Qatar. Perhaps Jordan. Or maybe somewhere I haven’t even thought of yet.
Honestly, the destination doesn’t matter nearly as much as the experience itself.
I would travel across borders just to spend one evening listening to the voice that has accompanied so many of my memories.
And if that opportunity ever comes, I know it will be a journey worth remembering.
Until That Day Comes…
For now, I’m simply grateful that I was able to witness his return through YouTube.
After so many years, hearing his voice on a concert stage again was a beautiful reminder that some artists leave an impression that time cannot erase.
His songs have accompanied so many different emotions and moments, and I know they will continue to do so.
I don’t know when I’ll have the chance to attend one of his concerts, or which country it will be in.
But I hope that one day, inshaAllah, I’ll be there.
Not watching from behind a screen, but sitting somewhere in the audience, surrounded by beautiful music, listening to a voice that has touched my heart for so many years.
Dear Fadel Chaker, I hope one day I’ll have the chance to hear you sing live. Wherever that may be, I hope I can be there.
Because some voices are unforgettable, some songs become part of our lives, and some dreams are worth traveling across the world for.
