There are times when someone stays on your mind so often that a simple question starts to feel surprisingly difficult:
Should I text him first?
The problem is, sometimes the answer isn’t “yes” or “no.”
Sometimes the answer is simply:
I don’t know.
I don’t know if I miss him or if I miss the possibility of what could have been.
I don’t know if I want to start a new conversation or if I just want to know whether our story has truly ended.
I don’t know if I want to hear from him, or if deep down I want reassurance that I still matter to him.
That uncertainty can be uncomfortable. We search for answers everywhere, when perhaps what we’re feeling is simply a longing that hasn’t found its shape yet.

Maybe texting him isn’t about chasing someone.
Maybe it’s about having the courage to accept whatever comes next.
Because sometimes the most exhausting thing isn’t rejection.
It’s living with a question that never gets answered.
But before sending that message, there’s one question worth asking yourself:
“If he replies warmly, I’ll be happy. But if he doesn’t reply at all, will I still be okay?”
If the answer is yes, perhaps the message is worth sending.
If the answer is not yet, perhaps you still need a little more time for yourself.
Not every feeling needs immediate action.
Not every question needs an answer today.
Sometimes the most important thing isn’t whether you text him first or not.
It’s whether you’ve been honest with yourself about what you’re really hoping to find.
And tonight, maybe I still don’t have that answer.
All I know is that his name still crosses my mind from time to time, and somehow, that still means something.
