There are nights when acceptance feels easier than hope.
Not because hope has disappeared.
But because the heart has grown tired of trying to predict what only Allah knows.
Perhaps he is not the one written for me.
Perhaps our paths crossed only to teach me something about patience, expectations, and letting go.
If that is true, then I pray I will have the courage to accept it with grace.
But then another question quietly follows.
What if marriage is simply not written for me in this life?
I don’t know.
And the truth is…
I cannot know.
Only Allah knows the pages that have not yet been turned.
Sometimes, I wish I could see the ending.
Just one glimpse.
Just enough to quiet the questions that visit my heart at night.
But perhaps that is not how faith works.
Faith is not knowing the ending.
Faith is continuing to walk without seeing it.
So tonight, I choose not to write the final chapter myself.
I will not tell myself that I will never marry.
I will not tell myself that I certainly will.
Both endings belong to Allah alone.
My responsibility is not to predict my future.
My responsibility is to live today with sincerity, kindness, and trust.
If marriage is part of my story, I pray it arrives with peace, love, and mutual commitment.
If my journey still requires waiting, I pray that Allah fills the waiting with purpose instead of despair.
For now, I am learning to replace one sentence with another.
Instead of saying,
“Maybe marriage is not my destiny.”
I choose to say,
“I don’t know what Allah has written for me yet.”
And perhaps…
That single word—
yet—
is where hope quietly continues to live.
